I'm Anita,
nice to meet you.
I was born in Nigeria and raised across three different continents, which is why I consider myself a 'global child.' I speak English, French, and am quickly learning Spanish. Coming from a family filled with medical and business professionals, I’m one of the two who ventured into tech. I recently moved to Seattle to focus on my career and pursue my dream of becoming an User Experience Designer, with a strong focus on inclusion.
Outside of school and work, I’m passionate about fitness, regularly going to the gym, and creating content around fitness and hair on social media. I also love dogs and enjoy driving around the city as a form of meditation.

How I got started in user experience
My interest in user experience design was sparked during my senior year of college when I took a Human-Computer Interaction class. Before that, I didn’t realize that studying how users interact with products, especially in mobile design, was part of UX/UI. Once I discovered the term, I delved deeper into the field, watching YouTube channels like Sarah Doody's, which further ignited my passion for creating intuitive, user-centered designs. Alongside my experiences with diverse cultures and people, I became deeply interested in designing products that are universally inclusive, ensuring accessibility and usability for people from all walks of life
What I've been working on
I am currently working on the design of a physical product called 'Smart Mirror' (there was a teaser of it on the home page). It's my final group project for a class i'm taking and I'm really excited about adding it to my portfolio!
What I'm curious about
What do you think is the most commonly violated usability heuristic and how strictly do designers adhere to them in corporate teams?
